Peter Herrick graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and served several years at sea as a ship's officer. Later, after completing law school, he joined the U.S. Customs Service where he served as assistant regional counsel for ten years. He has been in private practice for 23 years, practicing business law with a strong and constant emphasis on U.S. Customs litigation.
Peter represents individuals and corporations nationally in matters before the U.S. Customs Service including seizures, penalties, classification, value, marking, country of origin, ruling requests, protests, structuring agreements, and intellectual property rights. He represents clients in matters with the Food and Drug Administration, Fish and Wildlife Service, International Trade Administration, International Trade Commission, Consumer Product Safety Commission, and the United States Coast Guard.
Peter litigates special matters in Florida state courts. He actively seeks to settle litigious matters with the U. S. Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Department of Justice.
